Referee
September: Focus on referee mechanics.
Start of Match
- Line up outside of contest area.
- Bow, walk up to line facing the opposing contestant
- Bow, one step forwards
- Referee, "Commands, Hajime"
- Use of appropriate hand signals
End of match
- Contestants stand "one step" in front of line
- Referee steps forward and awards the win, and then steps back
- Contestants, step back and bow, then proceed to walk to end
of mat, bow again
- Then walk away.
