Pool
Sheet Coordinator: Match
Maker
- The
Pool Sheet coordinator has the most difficult responsibility
of the tournament.
- It
is their responsibility to match the individuals according
to:
- 1.
Sex
- 2.
Age
- 3.
Belt Color
- 4.
Weight
Liability
lawsuits can arise if the matching of individuals are not
appropriate. There should be an approximately 10-lbs. difference
between the lightest and heaviest individual to be contested.
It is better to error on safety than competition.
Determining
the Contestants
- Entry
forms should be taken from the Weigh-In Coordinator (Locker
Room)
- Entry
forms should be separated between male and female, AFIX a
COLOR STICKER TO ALL FEMALE ENTRYFORMS (easier to distinguish).
- Use two different areas to layout forms
- Separate entry forms in COLUMNS BY
- Sex ie: Male
- Age group ie: 7 yrs old
- Belt color ie: Orange
- Weight. ie: 95 lbs.
Critical Factors: 1.)Weight, 2.)Belt Color, 3.) Age.
- At
the conclusion of the weigh in time: 9:30 am; (Jr's.) 11:00 am; (Sr.)
- Begin
to write the pool
- Be
aware of late entries which might require a re-write
of a pool
- Double
check with Tournament Director as to the appropriateness
of the pool definition.
- Send
the Pool's up to the Announcing Table
Pool Writers
Responsible
for writing name and club of contestants competing in the
"Pools" as handed to you by the Pool Coordinator
- Print:
- First
and Last Name (1st Line)
- Dojo/Club
(2nd Line)
Double check
as to the appropriateness of the pool
- Check
for:
- Sex: Are they of the same sex
- Age: The age group should span only 2-3 ages
- Belt
Color: Are the belt colors similar
- Weight: Are the contestants between 10 lbs from the lightest
to heaviest
- Let
the pool coordinator know of any problems

Pool system
of competition will be used: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 person pool
Contestants
are grouped in pools according to the following criteria
- Sex: Are they of the same sex
- Age: The age group
- Belt
Color: Are the belt colors similar
- Weight: Are the contestants between 10 lbs from the lightest to
heaviest
